Woman seriously injured and hospitalized after being hit by a Float in a Florida parade. The was struck by the float shortly after 5:30 pm on Saturday night. The accident victim was identified as Miriam Mimms, age 59.  Reports are Mimms, was not behind the barricade and was in the street picking up a parade throw when she was bumped and fell into the path of the parade float. A safety person traveling with the float David Chapman witnessed Mimms fall and attempted to pull her but she was struck on the left side of her body by the tires of the float.
