A motorcyclist and a good Samaritan helping the motorcyclist were both hit and killed in Volusia County Florida. The accident occurred on U.S. 1 when a motorcyclist lost control and crashed his motorcycle. The driver was ejected from the motorcycle. Another driver stopped to aid the motorcyclist when the woman was kneeling to help the motorcyclist they were both hit by a passing vehicle. The driver of that vehicle James Nichols of Daytona Beach was injured and taken to a local medical center for treatment. Another driver identified as 39-year-old Penelope Ferguson was behind Nichols’ vehicle and also hit the motorcyclist. The good Samaritan who stopped was identified as 33-year-old Tina Martin of Port Orange Florida. The driver of the motorcycle was not identified. The local Florida authorities are investigating the fatal accident.
